PILEDRIVER - Southside Kings Album Launch

Laguna's Finest PILEDRIVER  will be launching their newest album called Southside Kings in Lipa City in Batangas. PILEDRIVER is one of the busiest hardcore band in the country, touring from North Luzon to the southern most part of the country and keeping it real since the beginning. You guys should check this out.

After 2 years of being in hiatus Half The Battle is back. Half The Battle is one of the best youth crew band in the country. Great line up plus this is a free show. What more can you ask for?

No Turning Back Philippine Tour

I know its too early to get excited but No Turning Back will be doing another Philippine Tour this coming December. This guys are keeping their promise. If you missed their last tour here in Laguna, save the date and don't miss this one.

Wednesday Weekend

You  heard it right Wednesday is the new weekend. Our friends from Settle Down and Walk Me Home will be playing at B-Side in Makati this July 6, 2011. Save the date, this is a night nothing but punk rock. 150 to get you in, they will be selling some merch at the venue so check it out.

Freedom To Unite

Another Hardcore show for all of you Batangas peeps. June 25 at Greenhut Bar in Malvar (its along the hi-way near BSU campus). A lot of bands will be playing and don't forget entrance is free.

2nd Installment of This is Not a Punk Show

Second installment of a four week event at Kalye Art Gallery, featuring the local talents that we have on the local punk scene. On this leg there will be a film showing like The Edge, a perspective on a drug free culture and straight edge,Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugazi), Ray Cappo (Youth of Today, Shelter) and Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis, Freya) give witness to their perception of the history of Straight Edge, why it was so important to them and what it changed in their personal and professional careers. But they also address problems like violence, sexism and intolerance that emerged within Straight Edge, and how it changed the ‘scene’ as well as its public image.

Furthermore, EDGE explores the lives of 9 individuals, that identify as Straight Edge. Their reasons range from negative experiences with drugs to maintaining a healthy lifestyle to political reasons. Through a very close and personal look into their daily lives, we see how their decision to live ‘poison free’ has changed the world for them.

Another film that would be shown is Inside Outside, this is about artists who works on the street. The artist featured on this film face some kind of dilemma with restrictions and norms of the society they live in, the forces fo the commercial art world and the advertising industry who are looking for the next big thing and want to have their bite of the energy and coolness that the street art is brimming with.
